My Daughter Is Learning Life Lessons At Twenty One

We all know our kids are going to grow up, drive to friends' houses, where we can't see or hear what they're saying, go to clubs where we can't see how they are acting, or deal with friends' parents, and not see how respectful they are.
Now it's time to learn life's lessons. I wish I could help her, like i did when she was a little girl, but i can't. It's her time to fly. She's strong and honest and loyal, and she'll do alright. All the time i took to teach her how to think with compassion and kindness, to act with respect and dignity, I hope, are following her on her new journey of discovery. Not only discovering herself, but the world around her.
There's so much we parents have already gone through, and now have to sit back and watch our children go through. however, if we don't, and something should happen to us, how will they make out then? I'd rather be around to guide and nurture, even if from afar.

The hardest thing for me is to allow him to fail so that he does learn those life lessons. I don't know about your kid but mine didn't come with an owners manual. Please log in to respond to this comment.
