Angels Come In All Shapes And Sizes

I have believed in angels all my life. At first, they were just pictures I saw all around the Catholic Church I went to, and in different members of my families’ homes. I always admired their beauty, but I wasn’t really sure what their job was.

As I got older, and began to read some angel books, I understood better that these Heavenly beings do exist, and do help us. There are hundreds of stories to back me up. People who were helped by someone, and when they went to where they worked, or lived, to thank them, they found they didn’t exist.

I know it’s happened in my world. I have needed help and have had people come out of the blue, help me, and were quickly gone. My girlfriend lives in Maine, and was on her way home from work in a blizzard. It had been snowing all day. She hit an embankment, was thrown from her car, and lay freezing in the snow. A man came to her, put his arms around her to keep her warm until the ambulance came. When it did, she was being loaded into the back, and asked to thank the man who had helped her. They looked all around, and there were no footprints anywhere. Nor was there any man. There are stories of people who were falling, and all of a sudden, they felt as if someone was holding them up, and they safely made it to the ground.

I believe angels come in many forms. Maybe the angels that can come down and help us have passed all the tests to do so! This may be their hour to shine, by helping as many people as they can. I also believe people can be Earthly angels. Those who try to help anyone they can, and ask nothing in return, I believe, are angels. I mentioned to a gas station attendant the other day that I was really low on money, and only had five dollars for gas. He asked me if that was enough to get me to where I was going, and I said yes. He then told me if I ever needed anything, money, food, whatever, to come and see him, and he if wasn’t there, ask for Bob, and he would do the same thing. I went there for gas today, and neither was there.

I keep teasing my Reflexologist that someday, I’m going to come back to visit her, and whomever owns the house will say, "We’ve lived here forty years, and we don’t know any Sandy!" She may or may not be a Heavenly angel, that still remains to be seen, but I know she’s an Earthly angel. She teaches me things I should know to help me live a less stressful life. She is kind and gentle and respectful and intelligent and fun to be around. She is one of my angels.

My friends are my play angels on Earth. They keep me up when I want to fall. And lately, I’ve been losing my balance a lot! They e mail me, and keep in touch, and I appreciate their care and concern. I have my soul angels whom I talk to when I close my eyes and focus on what I am in need of. Those are the serious angels. We don’t like to have to call on them too often. And this is not to say that my Higher Power doesn’t come first, because He certainly does, I just simply believe in angels.

I had to get a lawyer, and I had no clue who to go to. I called one lawyer and was referred to another. I made the appointment, and met with this lawyer. I liked him, but he was very busy, and in court all the time, so I met with another lawyer in the firm. I liked this woman right off the bat, as a matter of fact, I had to meet her for the first time at the courthouse, and I saw her walking across the street, and knew it was her. I also knew I would like working with her. I have three kids that won’t have a home, or myself and my partner, if things don’t go right.

I need money to support myself, I have Crohn’s and it doesn’t allow me to have a normal job, or any long term exertion. I have tried being a Realtor, and a cleaning woman, and I eventually had to quit both. So, it is important that I get enough money to live on, and provide for my kids. I don’t count age when I raise my kids, I just ask that they contribute when they get jobs. We have been in our home for twenty years, and I don’t ever want to leave. I want my kids to be able to come home when needed, and to have a place for my grandchildren to come. Cancers are very protective of their families and their homes, the two things that mean the most to them.

When I met this other lawyer, she turned to me, and said, "Hi, my name is angel."

Susan Thom is the mother of three children, two sons, 20 and 23, and a daughter 25. Her older son is in the air force in Germany right now, and her daughter is in the army in Tacoma, Washington.

Writing calms her, and gives her a place to go by herself! Clears the head and gets it out. She lives in a rural area, with a lake and mountains, and her partner, and has loved writing since she was a child.

She has been on a journey of self discovery for twenty years, and has learned many things about the human mind, and how to maintain some semblance of calm and peace within.

If someone reads one of her stories, and relates to her feelings, and gets a suggestion on how she dealt with them in a positive way, that would be the ultimate gift of her writing.

Susan, I see you write a lot about angels and thought you'd like to know the following tidbit, if you don't already. In the Bible, the book of Hebrews, in the last verse of chapter one we are told the purpose of angels. Earlier in the chapter it talks a little about them also. You'd probably enjoy this research since you have read about them in the past.

thank you for reading my article and responding. i have read alot about angels, and i most certainly do believe in them. my lawyer for my divorce, who was not my original lawyer, he was busy, and she took over, her name? angel. i am being protected and watched after. best regards, susan thom
