Ask For Prayers And See What Happens

I guess you would first have to believe in God, or a Higher Power in order to pray. Unless you believe in objects as your higher power. The point is, you have to believe in something greater than yourself. I believe in God, so that is who I pray to, as well as angels and spirits and the Blessed Mother, Jesus and the Holy Spirit, but always first and foremost, to God. I have prayed all my life. I was raised Catholic, and went to catholic Grammar school. We went to church through school on "holy" days, and on Sunday with my parents. I didn't like it.
I do like the idea of a Supreme Being, however. A Light of love and acceptance and a desire for His children to do well while here on Earth. I like the fact that we can call on that Supreme Being and ask for His help and influence in our lives. I also am a firm believer that prayers offered for us by others, are answered as well. I know they are heard because I have been the recipient of such "friendship prayers." Friends and family praying to God, in my name, for safety and fairness and good will and good health. And I myself, praying for family and friends in their name. It all seems to work out. This is a very comforting part of life.
In my world, I have left behind the prayers of my Catholic upbringing, and concentrate more on talking to God as if we were having a conversation. I converse to my Father, who I believe, wants what is best for me. I have had many occasions when others and myself have prayed for things to happen, and they have. Again, we all pray in different ways, some say the prayers we all grew up with, and some talk in conversation style. I have nothing against prayer, I just find simple conversation more direct and comforting. I picture God as my Father, who put my Earthly father in charge of me for a while, but was always there backing him up.
I don't believe God minds the switch from rhyme and wrote, to simple conversation, as He has answered so many of my pleas for His help. I know others have been gracious and kind enough to pray for me in whatever manner they choose, and it has helped, and I appreciate the effort on all parties. Life, with all it's ups and downs and positives and negatives, seems easier when we talk to our Father, in whichever way we feel comfortable. I also call upon The Blessed Mother, The Holy Spirit, Jesus, and all the spirit guides who have gone on before me. This includes my parents and grandparents and various great aunts and uncles. I believe in angels, and talk to them as well. It seems to work, for I have been blessed, helped, and comforted in times of need.
I am acutely aware that I am not the only one praying on my behalf. I don't think there are any words to express the extent of my appreciation to all the people who have prayed for me. Every little bit helps, and it seems to have been working through some very difficult times. There is an energy to prayer, in my opinion, and that positive, spiritual energy has been helping me along a rough road. To all those who have prayed for me, I thank you from the part of my soul that connects our energies to one another, and the Supreme Being.
I believe we are drawn to situations and people that God feels we need to be drawn to. Finding this Web Site has helped in ways I never could have imagined. And the people I have met, and talk to, are true friends, and I appreciate their care and concern. I will be honored to return the favor someday. There is a network of caring, loving, and devoted people on this site, and I am so happy to have made their acquaintance. I will forever be grateful for the prayers. Oh, and, could you keep them coming!

I'd love to give you a hint, but there are just so many things we want to add to SW I just wouldn't know where to start! The next big thing we will be adding was kind of inspired by you... so you will definately be hearing more about it as it unfolds. Unfortunately, I'm mired in rebuilding some of the back-end on SW right now.. it's a whole lot of work and if done properly, no one will ever know that it happened. How depressing! Please log in to respond to this comment.

I have always believed in a higher power, and yet a still feel so alone. I don't expect life to be a picnic, nobody said it would be, but it would be nice to feel warm and fuzzy inside once in a while.............Please log in to respond to this comment.hi anon,i apologize for the delay in responding, there was a glitz,i know that feeling, even though i believe God is with me. we are human, and although we believe this way, there are still times of deep despair.that's when we call for help, and try our best to lead a productive life.staying busy and having good friends or family, is important, but not essential, since there are those with none of the above. we can still keep busy, though, either through working or improving our home inside and out, going out to luch or dinner with someone, things can happen.thank you for reading and responding, suePlease log in to respond to this comment.
