Don't Let Your Spitual Light Blow Out

We all have the Light of God within us, and it is up to us, I believe, to expose that Light to the world in a positive fashion. Sometimes it's easy. We meet someone nice and honest, and we befriend them and have a mutual relationship based on trust and caring. The Light inside of us, combines with the Light inside of them, and we have a connection. However, as strong as the mind may be, often times, the heart and soul are more giving and forgiving, and the Light of our candle can be blowing in the wind, trying to hold on until the calm. We try feverishly not to let our Light go out.
As the outside wax of a candle is hard, we, too, must build up our strength around our Light, and protect ourselves the best we can. We have a mission to complete on this Earth before we pass on, and we don't need anyone else's negativity to get in our way. Of course, we will be tested, and we will have situations that will baffle us and hurt us, and make us wonder how we can bounce back. Our Light will be flickering, threatening to go out, so we have to remove the excess wax, whatever that may be, and let our Light shine strong once again. It is where our energy emanates from and fills our Spirit with altruism and love for ourselves and others.
Life has many twists and turns, but the Light must never go out. It will be dim at times, and glowing brightly at others, but it will always be our driving force, our connection with the Almighty. We may need help on the way. Maybe our parents, or a mentor, teacher, friend, therapist, books, holistic methods, spirituality, reflexology, whatever makes us feel like our Light is burning brightly. There's nothing wrong with seeking help in trying to get through this World without our candle blowing out. As a matter of fact, it's quite rewarding. We all need someone to confide in, it's a healthy part of life. Although, there are times being a hermit sounds really good.
Life takes energy to maintain us, to push us forward when we just want to go back to bed. A mother cannot stop caring for her kids because she has allowed her Light to grow dim. She can, and some do, but we know that's not a good practice. A father cannot stay home every day because he doesn't know how to fortify his Light. We must learn how. We must incorporate work, fun, and relaxation into our daily lives, a balance, if you will. We don't want our Light to wane and drag us down. There's too much for us to do. We take so much for granted.
Waking up in the morning, taking a shower, eating breakfast, driving to work or starting the laundry and vacuuming, lunch, errands, getting through the day at work, getting the kids to their sports, dinner, clean up, going on our computers, writing, praying, and going to bed. All in one day. If we have not done the necessary things to keep our Light glowing brightly, we will eventually break down. We need the stability of that connection to our Father to keep us going in a positive mode, and to give us the strength we need.
Therefore, some relaxation and fun, happy times must be experienced to keep us balanced. There's the calm, and there's the wind, and the calm has to sustain us when the wind tries to dim our spirit, our Light. Spending time doing things that make us feel happy and proud is a good flame booster. If we have kids, spending time with them is a great way to strengthen our Light. If we like to read, a good book is always relaxing, and gets our mind off things that may be upsetting us.
Sitting outside and observing nature as it happens is comforting. A nice bath always lifts one's spirit, writing an article, reading articles, doing something you've been putting off for a while. It's a great feeling when your laundry is all done, or your closet is cleaned out. E mailing friends you haven't had time to talk with in some time is a good way to keep your mind busy. And by far, the best, for me, is a nice nap in the afternoon, feeling safe and cozy and at peace.
All these things keep our flame shining brightly. We can then push forward and do all the things expected of ourselves. Our minds, bodies, and the Light of our spirit, will be in balance, and we will be able to do whatever it is we want to do. We might even find ourselves letting a car go in front of us, or a person in line at dunkin donuts, and we smile and give a cheerful hello to our co workers, and begin our day with a positive outlook.
If we are a stay at home mom, we'll have the energy to do the cleaning, running around, food shopping, dinner, and helping the kids with their homework. When they are safe and snug in their beds, you can either go on the computer, all alone, no one to bother you, or take a bath and get into bed and read a good book. If watching TV makes you relax, then do so. Get a good night's rest, and start all over the next day. Everything we do in life will be easier and more focused, if we allow our Light to burn brightly, and when it gets dim, we need to let some of the wax out that is keeping us from shining.
