Survival Mode And The Power Of The Spirit

There are times in our lives where we must rely on our instincts to get us through, both emotionally and physically. While experiencing stress, for whatever reason, it's important to remember when to sleep, when to eat, when to exercise, and when to gather our thoughts, and pray.

These actions are our survival mode, and it's in our best interest to obey what our body is trying to tell us. So often, we feel like we aren't doing enough, and letting time fade away. In reality, we are protecting our minds and bodies from abnormal worry and stress, until things ease up a bit.

We may want to believe we are made of stone, but we can, indeed, bring physical and emotional harm to ourselves during times of stress. There is no shame in stopping and taking the time to take care of ourselves. A survival mode usually lasts as long as needed, before situations in our lives get back to where we want them to be.

In this mode, we push ourselves to eat and rest and bathe and brush our teeth, and go outside for a few minutes. We may be going through a painful ordeal, but if we take care of our necessities, we'll be strong enough to ride the wave. The power of our spirit also plays a large role in approaching our problems.

Are we hopeful that things will turn out alright? Do we believe in our truths? Are we willing to fight for them, wait for them to take fruition, stand firm and proud in our convictions? Is our spirit that powerful? I have to know in my mind, heart, and soul, that what I believe in is correct, and what another believes in is incorrect, according to my upbringing, my experience, and my knowledge.

Then my spirit is that powerful, and guides me through. It is the battery of my being. It is everything I believe in and stand for. And it's everything I will fight for. When the spirit is strong, the survival mode is understood, and obeyed. I know what I must do to regroup and recharge my energy.

Everyone has their own way of dealing with protecting their survival mode and power of spirit. Some like to clean, or do laundry, or take a walk, a nap, a bath, have some tea, take a ride on a bike or motorcycle. Rejuvenate some of those positive feelings of hope and energy. It all carries us through and allows us to cope when the rest of the world isn't co operating.

Our survival mode and our power of the spirit go hand in hand. They take care of each other, if we are aware of the need for them to do so, and what we can do to help that process. Simply going out on the front lawn and noticing the little flowers that grow up through the grass, is tending to the spirit.

Taking beautiful digital pictures, and playing a slideshow on your desktop can lift your mood and bring warmth to your spirit. There are many things we can do for ourselves to build up that positivity and strength needed so we can feel hope and pride and freedom.

Life isn't going to be easy, we are going to make mistakes, unpleasant and hurtful situations and people are going to come our way, and if we aren't ready, we could be in for a shock. Even if we are ready, we may be shocked, but at least we will have our survival mode and our strength of spirit.

The two will get us through, and justice will prevail. It is the way it should be, and I believe it is God's divine intervention in our lives when we are doing what is right. It may take time and practice to balance the scales, but it is worth the work.

Writing calms her, and gives her a place to go by herself! Clears the head and gets it out. She lives in a rural area, with a lake and mountains, and her partner, and has loved writing since she was a child.

She has been on a journey of self discovery for twenty years, and has learned many things about the human mind, and how to maintain some semblance of calm and peace within.

If someone reads one of her stories, and relates to her feelings, and gets a suggestion on how she dealt with them in a positive way, that would be the ultimate gift of her writing.
