Life Can Be So Pleasant

Once one has learned to shield themselves from the unpleasantness of life, everything seems lighter, more hopeful, and happier. So much garbage creeps into our minds, but there are ways to prevent that from happening. These can be real problems that must be faced, but with an optimistic and determined mind, one can work through them in an analytical, and not so emotional, way.
However, on our way to the kid's bus stop, our see 3 grazing deer on you front yard, a couple of rabbits sitting back on their hind legs, blackbirds filling our lawn and looking for food. The air is crisp and clean, and refreshing in it's chilliness. The sky is a bright, deep blue, and the clouds are melting into different characters and objects. You're overwhelmed by the way you feel. Upbeat, happy, invigorated, and grateful to be able to see all these things.
As you run your errands, you are free, and doing what you are meant to do. There is a great pride in being a mother, and taking care of a home. Even when the kids leave home, the pride remains. You know you have instilled in them all you have to offer, and it's wonderful watching them grow and mature. Oh, there's arguments and wrong doings, but the love and pride never goes away. A mother's love is unending and hold no bounds.
There are so many things to look forward to in a pleasant environment, with pleasant memories and a feeling of fulfillment and contentment. Kids bring those feelings out into the world with them. Every time they saved a bird from it's nest, and fed it with an eyedropper. Every time the flowers all bloomed, and colors and scented smells filled the garden. Life can be so pleasant when all is right with our world.
The aggravations and frustrations of life aren't ever going to go away. There is no perfection, only a bold desire to live happily. This desire thrusts us forward to engulf ourselves in this life, not merely attend it. It is thrilling to me to walk the whole front yard of grass, and notice a beautiful wildflower in the midst of the blades of grass. And then, the 2 little chipmunks who share a hole, and run back and forth gathering birdseed for their horde of food.
In the fall, we can find gorgeous colors in the leaves. I like to make an arrangement with all these different flowers of nature. Everything seems so alive and vibrant. Now that snow is on it's way, I'll be able to marvel at the glistening stars that seem to incorporate themselves in to the snow. Everything is so beautiful and white and clean. When it is snowing hard, and no one can get out, or no has to, I love watching it snow as it blankets the ground with it's purity.
No, I don't like driving in it and no I don't like shoveling it, However, I sure do love those little glistening shards of snow and ice. There is so much for us to enjoy. The planet is at our fingertips. And we can enjoy it all. The problems we all face can and will be dealt with, however, we can still appreciate God's handiwork. He created us to enjoy what He has given, whether we do so or not, is up to us.
