Dear Lord, Give Me A Hint, Am I On The Right Track

Lord, I have felt close to you in Spirit, since I was a young child. I believed in a spiritual God. This was the name I was taught by my parents and family. I was raised to have a conscience and to do good, and stay far away from Evil. I went off track for quite a few years, but I never stopped talking to you in all of my moments of distress or elation.
And never have I felt that You had forsaken me. Instead, I found knowledge that led to wisdom to be our armor against all of our flaws. I never blamed You for any part of my life, or that of others’. Instead, I always felt Your presence and love. Even as a young child, I felt the desire to please You, and never felt You were angry when I didn’t.
I wish I knew the Truth. Am I just making excuses for the wrongs committed on the Earth I believe You created? I feel we all have the choices we need, and whichever way we choose to live our lives is not only up to us, but we are responsible for those choices.
However, I have always gotten confused when one country kills thousands over a dispute that will be forgotten tomorrow. Why would one man not respect his own brother? What does it matter what name one calls You?
My son goes by a nickname that sounds nothing like his name. Is he now not my son? Should I kill those who say his name differently than I had expected? Should I disown Him and turn my back on him because of his beliefs? Possessions seem to be the desire and yet, one could negotiate a fair way to settle things.
We just need the knowledge. Experience creates knowledge which creates wisdom. How much oil do we really need? How much food? How many cars and houses and boats? And do we kill if we can’t have those things?
Children kill over things! Sneakers, jackets, girlfriends, money, etc. Where are the parents who should be teaching their children that compromise is always better than death! If you want those sneakers, work for them.
If you can’t find work, go door to door and rake leaves or shovel snow. Or, go without until your actions create revenue that will enable you to buy anything you want, without having to kill someone’s mother/brother/son/daughter/grandmother, etc.? And if they do, are we to hate and despise them?
Do we turn around and kill them as well? Was this all you planned for, or have we turned against your dreams for your children? Did you know we would damage the beauty you created? Were you hoping, as I am, that we, as a people, would mellow and realize that fighting, combat, stealing, lying and cheating are wrong?
Do we have a chance? I know the answer is in us all. When all the negative and inappropriate things stop happening, will we reach for more positive lifestyles as a whole? Are we past selfishness, and thinking only of ourselves? We want more, so someone else has to go with less?
Or can we co-operate and come to the right conclusion of sharing, not hoarding. Can we see past skin color and sexual preference? Lord, is it such a big deal? If I don’t think it is, will I burn in Hell? Is there a Hell? Or do we go through our own reviews, seeing and feeling everything we ever did to hurt someone, until all is experienced, and we are asked where we would like to go?
I’ve read that, but I don’t know if it is true, yet I want to. I could understand that. Life would make sense, and Heaven would be forever. Most importantly, that would confirm my forever belief that God is not a vengeful God.
We make our choices, and the consequences are ours to own, not other people or objects or situations. I think more and more people are evaluating their lives and their behavior, and reading or watching shows on better ways of dealing with our feelings.
If we all learn to tame down, and think more positively, and think about how we treat our world and all in it, we just might be able to save it.
